The Primary Science Quality Mark is a professional development programme which aims to raise the profile of science in primary schools. It provides schools with a framework and professional support for developing science leadership, teaching and learning.
To achieve the award subject leaders have to :
Audit provision and identify areas for development
Develop an action plan to take provision forward
Lead staff meetings to develop and exemplify good practice
Review and develop assessment strategies
Gather and reflect on evidence to identify next steps in taking the subject forward
Work collaboratively with other subject leaders
It has been recognised by Ofsted.
